I always say I am American!
I feel you Tino, I lost my Mom this past December, I always wake up thinking about her. It just feels like the pain and disbelief is always gonna be with me. I just have to find a way to live with it. I'm sorry for your loss, I'm sure your Dad is watching over you and proud.
Oh yeah definitely! Just primarily with the older Japanese folks, but I don't mind.
This isnt quite the same thing, But in New Zealand Maori people call White New Zealanders Pakeha, Which has basically the same meaning as Gaijin, Outside person. Maori and most of the media and government call all White New Zealanders this but interestingly never any other non-Maori race, Eg: Chinese New Zealanders are not Pakeha / Outside people. Sometimes its intended to be offensive, As if to say you dont belong. But often people are just using it because the world has evolved beyond its original meaning.
🙏🏽 Thank you🙏🏽I didn’t know that. But just goes to show you. Every country has their own way of labeling those who don’t belong or who are on the outside
Very easy to judge someone like Tavo, but it sounds like if you open your ears and heart to him, he had a lot of common sense and sound advice to give. Am lucky to have three mentors - and have ALWAYS counted you among them
There are only a handful of people I can sit down and have an 8-hour conversation with… and Tavo was one of them. Definitely a lot of laughter, tears and… tons of wisdom💕 Thank you for that, brother🙏🏽 Im always striving to be somebody’s Tavo.
Thanks for sharing another one of life's lessons my brother keep it real 💯
Thanks, bro😁🤙🏽
Uncle Tino with another vid! Miss you man
Thanks, nephew😊🙏🏽💕
Mentor. We all need a mentor. 1990. I meet Mas Shoji from Gardena , he was my Aikido Sensei. He taught me to educate my self, he made me go to College , he also told me reading will free you. He passed in 2004. I attended the funeral, he was a 442 Japanese American solider and he three purple harts. I remember meeting his friends from Hawaii. He was a great man, but he never talked of his service. I had a great friend and a great teacher. Mentors. 😢😢😢😢
See? We all had a Tavo in our lives😊🙏🏽 Thank you😊🙏🏽
I am a Mexican American currently living in Japan. I've never had to specifically identify as Mexican American before, but I feel I might need to clarify my background, given that people in Tokyo often assume I am Middle Eastern, Indian, or Pakistani. Regarding work, I am adapting to the Japanese work culture and their passive approach, which I've only recently become aware of. I am grateful to the Japanese individual who gave me my first job despite my limited Japanese skills. However, I've noticed that people can be quite dismissive because of the language barrier. Nonetheless, it's a work in progress, and I am determined to overcome these challenges. So far, my only issue in Japan has been communication.
Thank you for your comment, Spider and I am super excited for you. I’m more than positive you are going to outshine every one of your coworkers. Yeah, man. Get this language down. The harder you try, the more they will respect you. Thanks again for the comment, brother
Frank Martinez Downey Cali. Great new book. Latinoland by Marie Arania. It shows that Latinos are diverse today, you can’t define us. We are Japanese Mexicano , Korean Mexicano , Jewish Mexicano , Italian . The Latino is so big. Enjoy book. Please have Japanese read this book. I worked in Indiana, Kentucky. The truth of American white supremacy. Teaching white supremacy by Donald yacovan. They stopped teaching white supremacy in public schools 1776-1965 due to martin Luther king and Malcomb x. The book talks about 1800. Chinese exclusion act, no Chinese. The Japanese camps and the exclusion of Mexico. The main idea is the first European language was Spanish Now look at American . I am the new American . I am Mexicano American with Japanese Culture. Today, I have Japanese American community center which Korean join which is funny they don’t know the Japanese culture. It’s funny latino friends ask me aren’t they Japanese ??? No. The look Japanese but totally diffrent
Yeah… Japanese Japanese and American or other Japanese are totally different. Although the book sounds interesting and I’d love to read it but I fear it wouldn’t fly here 🇧🇱
Preach brother 🙌
Thanks, homie😊🙏🏽
GET A MAP DUDE..AMERICA IT;S A CONTINENT NOT A COUNTRY WHITE RACE IS NOT FROM AMERICA...AND AMERICA CAME FROM AMERICO THE EXPLORER...SO NOT EVEN THE WORD WAS BORN IN THE U,S,.....
True… You’re not hearing what I’m saying, tho. Ay… Did you know that an avocado is a fruit? But everybody enjoys it as a vegetable. Trippy, huh? Oh, I got a map. It’s a pretty cool one, too.
Haha ... I eat pudding too ! :)
Heck yeah!!! No greater treat on earth, my man😊💕🍮
Quote from Floyd Mayweather "I'm not African American. I'm an American. I was born on amerian soil. When Europeans came to the Indian lands (Natives) We don't call them European Americans" We are all a Nation of Immigrants. I was born in East Los Angeles. 1st Generation. Both parents born in Mexico. Yes I am an American but I am pround to be Mexican. Your correct Tino. Lazy ass Americans. I grew up in the 80's / 90's. Hard work is where it got me today. Great Video Tino. Love your LA gear 😎 Representing West Coast !! 😊
‘65 baby right here, homie… so you already know😊 Like I said… We do it better than everybody💪🏽🇲🇽🇺🇸🤙🏽
Damn, haven’t seen you in a while glad you still making videos and will subscribe. Lost my last account.
I appreciate you, brother. Big hugs🙏🏽
Bc Americans propaganda made it that way
Blonde hair and blue eyes, sounds like a german who was from austria with a funny bigote lol
Because until very recently America was like 90% white.
Perhaps because 55% Mexican land is currently American land. But what do I know. 🤙🏾😂🥃
Only on paper😊 ‘cause we ain’t going nowhere 😊
Mos def. Especially when you move to another country. You get real patriotic real quick. Especially when they talk shit about your country.
I have to say Latin American Japanese, because they see that I have a Japanese face with Latin American nuances. I can't just say Japanese, because they can see that I'm not made-in Japan Japanese. However, I can't say Japanese-American, because my fam wasn't in the U.S. during the war. So, I don't share their history. Yeah, it can get complicated, sometimes. Keep up the awesome work, Tino. And, take care. /o
Yup. That right there. Of course I’m used to it now but never had to go through all of that prior to coming to Japan. Stay safe and God Bless, fam😊🙏🏽
Whoa whoa, wait. Do you really not like Molé???😮😮
Can’t do it… Never could😂 It’s the sweetness🤮
@@MexicanSamurai100 Ahh, I can understand that lol. It really is different

I was working on my home in Hikone and I noticed old ladies, men would stare at me like I was some type of zoo animal exhibit. Of course I would say hello & neighbors would get Hawaiian Chocolates I would pass out but knew that being in the Country I was probably the 1st gaijin they have seen.
Tis why they stare. We’d do the same thing back home, but it’s just that we’re on the receiving end of it…and that makes it weird. I love being stared at until it becomes something offensive. Then we have a problem😊 Thanks for the comment, homie😊🙏🏽
Aloha, que pasa brother, where you live in Japan? My Japanese wifey & I bought Akiya in Hikone Shiga, will be retiring in a couple of years but remodeling house now only for us to live. I love the Raiders in fact designing a 2 story man cave with the East Los & Hawaiian theme - I now live in Hawaii. I am a Christian man. Looking for other Mexicans living in Japan maybe just to kick it with but need good people in my life. I was born and raised ELA right off Whittier, ran with clique got in trouble as a youth but now this OG who found the Lord is looking for some peace in the Countryside of Japan.
Damn… Sounds like you and me were cut from the same cloth, bro. Let me know if you ever make it down south. We definitely gotta hang out 😊
@@MexicanSamurai100 where abouts you at brother? I'll be in Hikone in Oct 3 weeks working on home & visit with my in-laws in Nagoya.
@@acholosjourney Ahhh… I’m in Kyushu. Kumamoto to be exact.
Amazing
Thanks😊🙏🏽
Yeah he got the Mexican strength 🔥🔥🔥
That’s very interesting on your perspective in regards to teaching English, I somewhat understand because there are teachers that give packets and expect students to just figure it out when really that’s not the way. Learning a language is an emotion process. I am currently studying Japanese in Japan right now and I casually forget words here and there. I remember there was a conversation I was having with fellow classmates about phones cases, I gave my Chinese classmate my phone case to see and she says 重い. I never forgot that word since.
For those of you who have ears… 😊 Glad you heard what I was saying, my friend. Language is 4-D. You can see it, hear it, feel it and if you can’t. You’re never gonna get it. Thanks for the awesome comment 😊
Amen.
When I grow up, I want to be like you. Awesome father, great role model. I'll just keep trying one day at a time.
😂 they need to make a new gi joe movie real quick ship it world wide n make gung ho mexican american n make him the main character
Brazilian have flan too but when I knew Vietnamese flan was a world of difference for me, they put two of my favorite things together, flan and coffee, if you have a Vietnamese store near you I highly recommend
Thank you Tino. Great Video. The new Series "Shogun" I don't know if you've seen it. The whole show is about Chrisianity in the old days. Video Sugestion: Make a video about this series. It's on Hulu. Thank you
I’ve seen it, but although it’s based on historical events… it plays too much like a Hollywood movie😊 Just glad they had all Japanese actors. Some parts were a bit hard to believe
100% Tino. I'm in California (East Los) Most kids this generation are lazy in the U.S. I grew up in the 90's. Everything was hard. No internet, no cell phones, walking to the library, taking the bus. Therapist ?? The streets was my therapy. Dating ? We had to go to a club to meet girls, walk up to them and ask them to dance. I agree with you. Hard work is very important. This will prep you for the future in anything you do. Your right we should do all the three K's. Great Video. Thanks
All of that and then-some, brother. All survival back in the day, but imagine how we’d be if we didn’t have those trials… hardships… life lessons. Thankful indeed and at least we know how it used to be before all the new bs😊 Appreciate you, brother
I miss you man, love the children brother. I wouldn't leave either.

Thanks, bro😊🙏🏽 and I got to do this 7 days a week!😊🙏🏽💕
Melonpan is the best
Looks Good Carnal 💯🫓🍮
Some folks get so worked up about the term. I remember during my first year here one much older Aussie guy yelled at a bunch of girls who simply commented that there was a group of gaijin, which we were! It messed up my image of the terms for a while, but I wasn't really comfortable with him causing a public scene about it. Surely that's more negative... Anyway, I like how you put it, and explained it 💯💯
Thanks, brother. Yeah, man…. How you say any word/term is very important. Long stem rose! said in a very negative hateful way would sound horrifying to me😊 Thanks always 😊🙏🏽
Still my fav Japan UA-camr! What up Big Unk
